Frequently Asked Question

CORONAVIRUS SANITIZING & DISINFECTING: FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

We use a Made In The USA hospital grade disinfectant with broad spectrum kill. This sanitizes all treated areas which helps to kill and prevent the spread of most known viruses. Our products are safe for both children and pets, allowing you to schedule cleanings even while at home with the kids. We'll never bring toxic or dangerous chemicals into your safe at home spaces.

Our sanitizing experts disinfect and deoderize with a unique EPA-registered thymol blend product. What we use is labeled as a broad-spectrum germicide, fungicide and virucide that's ready-to-use. This allows us to clean, disinfect and deodorize with a mild, pleasant fragrance with no harsh fumes and no mixing of chemicals. Our CDC appoved and EPA registered sanitizing products are approved for use in households, hospitals, restaurants, schools and across many other industries.

What we do know is that it kills most known viruses such as Sars, Mers, H1N1, HIV, Influenza, Gram Positive and Gram Negative Microorganisms and Tuberculosis. We warrant that all hard, non-porous surfaces are disinfected/sanitized at the time of treatment. As with any type of cleaning, routine treatments are recommended to adequately maintain surface disinfection/sanitation.

All jobs have different pricing. It depends on what needs to be done, the type of disinfecting equipment we will be using, the size of the location and time it will take. What we can say is we provide a great service for a reasonable price. Please call us for a direct quote at 877-607-7608 or head over to the contact us page and send us an email. Please be sure to fill out all the boxes and provide as much detail as possible. Don’t forget to include your best phone number in case we have questions.

We may use O3 (Ozone) machines, UV lights, Hepa filtration, foggers, sprayers or electrostatic sprayers or steamers in addition to the spraying and wiping of disinfectant. We will put together the best cleaning plan possible to kill and prevent the spread of virus in your home, office or facility.

The CDC reports that the virus has been detected in the air for as much as 3 hours after it is aerosolized and up to 17 days on some inanimate surfaces. Not all surfaces have been tested and it is not yet know how much of the virus material is required to contract COVID-19. CDC currently does not have enough information about SARS-CoV-2 to be able to make a definitive statement on how long to quarantine an area for it to be reduced to an acceptable risk level. For these reasons, the cleaning and disinfection processes described by CDC continue to be the recommendation of Society Medical Cleaning Service.

There is no restriction against an employer cleaning and disinfecting their own facility; however, there are certain regulatory requirements that must be met in order to be in compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations:

1. OSHA’s Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) standards (29 CFR 1910 Subpart I), require training when using gloves, eye and face protection, and respiratory protection.

2. When respirators are necessary to protect workers, employers must implement a comprehensive respiratory protection program in accordance with the OSHA’s Respiratory Protection standard (29 CFR 1910.134). This includes a written program, respirator fit tests and medical clearance to wear air purifying respirators. NOTE: Facemasks that are worn to protect others from the spread of pathogens and not to protect the wearer do not have the fit test and medical clearance requirements.

3. OSHA has issued a statement regarding COVID-19 Waste: “…use typical engineering and administrative controls, safe work practices, and PPE, such as puncture-resistant gloves and face and eye protection, to prevent worker exposure to the waste streams (or types of wastes), including any contaminants in the materials, they manage. Such measures can help protect workers from sharps and other items that can cause injuries or exposures to infectious materials.” Failure to properly manage the waste could lead to cross-contamination and further infection risks.

4. CDC says that most household disinfectants are effective at reducing the risk of infection, but it is important to use only disinfectants that are registered with the EPA. Specifically, those that have emerging virus claims offer the best protection against SARS-CoV-2 pathogens.

5. OSHA has recently issued a pamphlet entitled, Guidance on Preparing Workplaces for COVID-19. This document is valuable source of information for employers who want to address the COVID-19 situation. It will help identify at risk employees and provide risk mitigation strategies to employ.

As part of the EPA registration process, disinfectant products are put through rigorous testing to prove their efficacy and measure toxicity.

Disinfectant

A disinfectant destroys or irreversibly inactivates microorganisms on hard, inanimate surfaces and objects. The EPA registers three types of disinfectants based on the type of efficacy data submitted: Limited, General (or Broad-spectrum), and Hospital. You can determine the “limited,” “general,” or “hospital” disinfectant by the microorganisms listed on the label.

Limited

Must be supported by efficacy testing against either Salmonella choleraesuis (gram-negative bacteria) or Staphylococcus aureus (gram-positive bacteria). Limited disinfectants are found mostly in household use.

General

Must be supported by efficacy testing against both Salmonella choleraesuis and Staphylococcus aureus. General disinfectants are used in commercial areas.

Hospital

Must be supported by AOAC Use Dilution or AOAC Germicidal Spray efficacy testing against Staphylococcus aureus, Salmonella choleraesuis and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. The bacteria Pseudomonas aeruginosa hides behind biofilm and is difficult to eliminate. Killing this bacteria is required for Hospital Disinfectants.

Also as part of this evaluation process, products are assigned to a toxicity category. The categories range from category 1 (highly toxic) to category 4 (no exposure warnings required on the label).

Our expert team of managers and personnel have over 23 years experience in the cleaning industry which includes toxic mold remediation, flood damage restoration, biohazard cleaning and are fully trained, capable, and experienced to handle the task of disinfecting and sanitizing small, medium, large commercial and residential customers. Our team of experts wear full body bio-hazard suits, gloves, respirators, and only use EPA recommended medical-grade disinfectants to sanitize all affected areas according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines. In addition, we may or may not combine the use of UV lights, Ozone Air Cleaners, and HEPA air filtration systems. Each job is different and may require more than the disinfectants to thoroughly sanitize, hence the use of additional equipment. Pricing varies per job and will vary depending on equipment used. All products used on the job site will be handled in accordance with proper cleaning procedures and will be removed, disinfected and disposed offsite according to local laws and regulations. There are no hidden fee’s and we offer reasonable pricing.
